Vice Squad
The Dallas-based Vice Fund invests in vice-related industries — gambling, tobacco, alcohol and defense industries. It’s been in operation for a year, and has done quite well. According to the Dallas Observer, the Vice Fund has returned 17.2 percent, beating the S&P 500 index (14.7 percent) and Dow Jones industrials (13.1 percent).
Apparently, vice (if not crime) does pay — at least for investors.

I think Mr. Strock’s comment belongs elsewhere, such as http://www.papaya-palace.com/katlog/2003_04.html.
But since it’s here, I’ll respond to it here.
I, too, am looking forward to the results of the National Academy of Sciences study on the health effects of perchlorate.
Readers should know that Mr. Strock’s organization, the Council on Water Quality, is not a disinterested party. It is an organization created and funded by the perchlorate industry. More reliable information can be found on the Web sites of the U.S. EPA and FDA.
